It's a good idea to hire a really Experienced Party Artist. So she can handle each Individual appropriately. Here are some Facepaintings that I created at a Community Event last Christmas. It illustrates just that.

For example, the Very Young Girl who requested the Santa Hat ~ she did not get the exact same treatment as the School-Age Girl who requested the Santa Hat. The Very Young Girl ~ not having expectations about Face Painting yet ~ was amazed with the decoration as is ~ with only a quick Tap of Glitter. Because a very young child might not have been able to sit for the few extra moments that the perfect application would have taken.

And the Boy who wanted to get in on the Frozen fun ~ I had had a run on one request for a Frozen Design after another ~ I had been creating Different Frozen designs on each of the girls. And here you see that I came up with one that felt really cool for a Boy, too.

These are the sort of things that a Very Experienced Party Artist tries to do. Because Your Children are not generic people who can be handled as routinely as if we were home painting on paper. You want an Artist who knows her stuff so well that she can be flexible with whatever happens in the moment.

Dreaming up designs for my upcoming 4th of July Face Painting events, I got carried away practicing Roses. Not sure yet how I'm going to adapt these into Independence Day designs, but it is just soooo satisfying to create roses.

Then I went to Photograph what I painted. So I can post it here online. And immediately ~ my phone's camera confronted me with almost 10 choices of just how I can initially Take the photos. Got to choose at least one of them. That's hard ~ because they each have their own attractions. And none of them look exactly like what I painted. Photographs never look exactly like the original Art.

I took a few of them to show you here. It's all of the exact same painting.

I can't just study these and choose which type of photo would always be best. Each different time and each different location has different Lighting. Which also strongly affects the many photos that the camera offers.

So I just snap photos ~ any photo. Because I have so many other concerns about performing at events. It feels tempting to perfect every aspect of everything we do, but we have to decide where we're going to spend how much effort. And no matter which photo I choose to take, it will be better than what we had available to us even a few years ago.

School Graduations are coming up soon. Field Day, Picnics, even Purim is coming up soon. It is time to take out my Face Paints!

8. Prepare yourself ~ Your clothes, your rest ~ so you can be the Gracious Hostess ~ Welcoming your Guests and making sure they can partake of the Joyful Experiences you've planned for them.
